I can remain on shore, paralyzed with fear, or I can raise my sails and dip and soar in the breeze."  This is one of the best and most effective "inspirational" books I have ever seen.  It is written by a man looking back at his childhood and using the lessons of sailing as a metaphor for the lessons of life.  The sailing images are sometimes painful, often beautiful, and always educational and inspiring.  Even if you are not a sailor, this book will entertain you, affect you deeply, and teach much about life.
